The Police

6 albums with 61 songs. 9 other songs. A total of 70 songs.

1978 Outlandos d'Amour (10)

Two timeless classics: "Roxanne" and "Can't Stand Losing You". And eight good songs: "So Lonely", "Hole In My Life", "Born In The 50's", "Masoko Tanga", "Next To You", "Truth Hits Everybody", "Peanuts" and "Be My Girl—Sally".

1979 Reggatta de Blanc (11)

Two timeless classics: "Message In A Bottle" and "Walking On The Moon". Three good songs: "Bring On The Night", "No Time This Time" and "The Bed's Too Big Without You". And six disappointments: "Does Everyone Stare", "Reggatta de Blanc", "It's Alright For You", "Deathwish", "On Any Other Day" and "Contact".

1980 Zenyatta Mondatta (11)

Two timeless classics: "Don't Stand So Close To Me" and "De Do Do Do De Da Da Da". Seven fine tracks: "When The World Is Running Down You Make The Best Of What's Still Around", "Canary In A Coalmine", "Driven To Tears", "Shadows In The Rain", "Voices Inside My Head", "Bombs Away" and "Behind My Camel". And two weak songs: "Man In A Suitcase" and "The Other Way Of Stopping".

1981 Ghost In The Machine (11)

The Police's worst album. One timeless classic: "Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic". Three fine songs: "Spirits In The Material World", "Invisible Sun" and "Hungry For You (J'aurais toujours faim de toi)". And seven disappointments: "Secret Journey", "Rehumanize Yourself", "One World (Not Three)", "Omegaman", "Darkness", "Too Much Information" and "Demolition Man".

1982 Brimstone And Treacle (8)

The best songs on the album are "We Got The Beat" by the Go-Go's and "Up The Junction" by Squeeze. The Police contributes eight tracks. The best among them is "I Burn For You". The rest is quite weak: "Brimstone And Treacle", "Brimstone 2", "You Know I Had The Strangest Dream", "Narration", "How Stupid Mr Bates", "Only You" and "A Kind Of Loving". There are also three cover songs on the album. One of them is very good - "Spread A Little Happiness" by Vivian Ellis (and sang by Sting) - but two others are quite forgettable: "When The Roll Is Called Up Yonder" and "Bless This House".

1983 Synchronicity (10)

The Police's last, and best, album. Three timeless classics: "Every Breath You Take", "Wrapped Around Your Finger" and "King Of Pain". Three good tunes: "Tea In The Sahara", "Walking In Your Footsteps" and "Murder By Numbers". The fine title song is split into two tracks: "Synchronicity I" and "Synchronicity II". Three songs are a bit disappointing: "O My God", "Mother" and "Miss Gradenko".
